What is body doubling?
Body doubling is a technique used to improve focus, motivation, and productivity, particularly for individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
-
A person (the "body double") works alongside the individual who needs support (the "client").
The body double can perform a similar task, such as studying or working on a project, or simply be present in the same room.
The client focuses on their own task, while the body double provides a sense of accountability and companionship.
-
Increased focus:
The presence of the body double can help the client stay on task and reduce distractions.
Improved motivation:
Having someone else working alongside them can make the task seem less daunting and more motivating.
Enhanced productivity:
Body doubling can help the client complete tasks more efficiently and effectively.
Accountability:
The body double can hold the client accountable for their work, which can encourage them to stay focused and complete their tasks.

Double Time Guidelines
We ask that everyone please keep your microphone muted in the main room. To maintain a silent space, please use the chat for all conversations within the main room.
If you would like to have a verbal conversation we ask that you step into one of the breakout rooms. They can be accessed through your menu bar.
The music room is for participants to share music with each other as you work in an otherwise silent space.
The check-in room is if you are doing separate tasks, but would like to check in with each other on what you are accomplishing.
The discussion room is if you are working on a similar task with someone else and would like to discuss that task.
Our decompression room is to take a break from work and chat about anything else you would like.
Feel free to be human and eat, or smoke if you desire. We encourage an open space to be who you are; however, we kindly ask that everyone remain clothed and respectful of the space.
We do not censor anyone's choice of language; however, we do not tolerate mistreatment or hate speech.
We remind everyone that it is our individual responsibility to choose what to do with feedback or advice.
We ask that everyone leave all personal identifying information about all other participants within the group. Feel free to take the information you gathered to others, just leave out our names, please.
For the last ten minutes of the group, we will open up the space in the main room for final check-ins.
By being in this space you are agreeing to follow these guidelines. If there is something within these guidelines you disagree with or would like to discuss please use our feedback form which can be found on our website: https://www.perfectlyflawedproductions.org/contact
