"Intermission" Sherpa Fleece Blanket
"Intermission"
"This tree represents a feeling most of us are familiar with but do not have words for. It is that period of time between overcoming a major hardship that took all your strength to weather and the moment when you’re finally able to pick up and start moving forward again. It’s the intermission between chapters. As an homage to my past battle with addiction, the tree was completely rendered using syringes with hypodermic needles. It is an image that portrays a sense of despair and hope in one. This tree has been stripped of its leaves, uprooted, hurled away from its planet, and set to float in the unknown. It’s a mess of broken and incoherent lines that somehow hold together to maintain existence, and it shows a strange sense of pregnancy; the promise of future creations to come from within."
